The Cravy Family

While hanging out at MawMaw and PawPaw’s, Natty asks if she can have some “Flamingo Juice.” Apparently, she had gotten some mango juice earlier and wanted a refill.

While out driving with PawPaw, headed somewhere unknown, they drove by a big lake here in Lubbock that has some spraying fountains in the center for decoration and for evaporating some of the water. Natty takes one look and exclaims, “PawPaw, the lake is leaking!”

The other night, our precious 20 month old son discovered his wrinkly fingers. After taking a nice long bath with his sister, Micah noticed his fingers being wrinkly and crinkly. He just didn’t know what to do with this new found revalation. He showed his hands to Natty and then looks back at them again with a very perplexed look on his face. Then, he does what comes natural to a little boy, he sticks his fingers in his mouth. He pulls them out again, looks at them and then sticks them back in again. This continues for the next five minutes or so, over and over again. He just couldn’t get over the feeling of wrinkly, crinkly fingers.

The discovery of youth, isn’t it awesome!

Sometimes its just nice to have fun in front of the camera. Here are some pictures of the kids and their gorgeous mom, Adriana for your viewing pleasure.

As some of you may know, Dad (Richard) and I have been running a business as a side project for almost 2 years now. We call it Mumbo Jumbo and we do all sorts of video, photo and computer work. We had been utilizing parts of our offices at our day jobs to run Mumbo Jumbo, but situations changed and we needed to get our own place. The pictures on this post are of our new 3-office suite that will house all of our Mumbo Jumbo work. These pictures are of the front door and the front office, which is where I work. Dad’s office is not yet ready for pictures as he is still moving in his personal livrary and computer repair work.

We are very excited about the move, although somewhat nervous as well. Please pray that this is a move that God will bless and that we can use this space to both care for our physical needs and to bring glory to God.

Another funny story from the mouth of our brilliant daughter. While driving through Lubbock the other day, we were passed by a motorcyclist who was weaving in and out of traffic while not wearing a helmet. We see this as an opportunity to teach Natty a little about being safe on a bike as she now rides a bike and wears a helmet to ride. Andi states that the motorcyclist had better be careful or he might crash and his head might fall off. Natty thinks about this for a second and then says, “Will there be candy all over the street if his head falls off? If there is everyone will be excited!”

I wonder what kind of candy is inside my pinata head?

After I finished pumping gas at the local Wal-Mart, Natty proceeded to tell Andi and I that she knew how to make gas. Here is her recipe”

1. Take some white milk
2. Add some sour cream
3. Put in the fridge and freeze it
4. Add some blue oil
5. All done, now you have gas

Someone needs to get that recipe to the government. That could put an end to our reliance on foreign oil.

Natty says so many things that just make us laugh out loud and we fail to write them down often enough. This story was worth remembering so here it is.

Andi put some pot pies in the microwave for dinner. We haven’t had them in a very long time and Natty has never had one, at least not where she would remember it. They are heating up and Andi and I are back in the office talking about our day. Natty rushes in and says in her serious voice, “The food in the microwave smells soooo good!” Andi and I look at each other and just lose it.

The simple joys of pot pies, don’t ever understimate it!

The other day we were out driving around, doing something or other with the kids and we see a newer style Volkswagen Beetle. Natty spots it and says, “Look at that squished car!” If you’ve seen it, you know that is a fairly accurate description. Upon hearing this, Andi tells her that the new Bug is her absolute favorite car, which is a true statement. Ever since we have been together, Andi has wanted one, a lime green colored one. Natty hears this from her momma and she proceeds to ask me “When are you going to buy momma and me a squished car? It’s our favorite!” “Someday, baby, someday” is my reply. I mean, what else can I say?

So, the day goes on and bedtime comes around. Natty is snuggling up next to me as she is falling asleep, as she often does (one of my favorite parts of being her daddy). OUt of nowhere, she mumbles to me, “Daddy, when will you buy momma and me a squished car? It’s our favorite,” and then she drifts off to sleep and dream of squished cars.

Well, it looks like we are still fighting the battle with Micah. He has been having difficulty with constipation and passing stool over the last few weeks. This has lead to dramatic and obviously painful screaming moments which have not been pleasant for any of us. The doctor has finally figured out that his rectal canal has a point where it narrows and this is causing it to be difficult for Micah to poop, essentially. They have scheduled him for a short procedure in the morning in which the doctor will put him under anasthesia and investigate the narrowing. The hope is that it is just at one point which he will address while in there. If it is a narrowing of the whole canal, then we will have to assess our opitons which probably includes an invasive surgical procedure. Please pray with us that it will be something that can be fixed quickly and easily in this procedure in the morning. This will be the fourth time that Micah will be put under anasthesia in his short life and we so dearly hope for it to be the last.

UPDATE

The procedure went well and we were able to take our boy home about 4.5 hours after we got there at 5:30 AM. Thankfully, the stricture that was the problem was only in one small place and the doctor was able to break the scar tissue fairly cleanly. Micah will go back on daily dilations (which we all hate) but that should help to keep this from happening again. We go back for a checkup next Tuesday to monitor the progress.
